Galaxy Fit – Samsung’s Latest Sub-£100 Smartphone
by on Aug.26, 2011, under Samsung
Samsung’s Galaxy brand is one of the fastest growing in the world of technology and smartphones. The Galaxy S II is fast becoming one of the biggest selling smartphones in the world and the entry level Galaxy Ace has been extremely well received since its launch. The latest addition to Samsung’s galaxy range is the Fit, a sub-£100 smartphone running Android 2.2.
A major benefit of the Galaxy Fit is its affordability. It costs less that £100 on many pay as you go tariffs. Despite its low price, Samsung haven’t scrimped with the design or features of the Galaxy Fit. The attractive handset weighs just 108g and boasts a 3.3-inch touchscreen display. The 240 x 320 pixel resolution is great for viewing pictures, videos and webpages but won’t put a strain on the phone’s battery or resources.
The Galaxy Fit has a 600MHz processor and runs Android 2.2 and Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. TouchWiz allows for superfast and smooth switching between apps, home screens and features on the phone; a rarity for budget smartphones. The device also comes preloaded with a variety of apps including Task Killer, Music, Social Hub and Quick Office, as well as a variety of Google apps.
One of the Galaxy Fit’s killer features is its incredible quality camera. It has a 5-megapixel sensor and shoots images at 2592 x 1944 pixel resolution. It also features geo-tagged and smile detection and shoots video at QVGA quality. The device also has excellent connectivity, with Wi-Fi, HSDPA, EDGE and GPRS. It can be used as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot for tethering and data can be transferred from the phone to a PC with the provided USB cable.
While the Samsung Galaxy Fit cannot match the Galaxy S II for power and features, its excellent camera and connectivity options make it the one of the best phones available for under £100. Find out more about this innovative mobile phone at the Phones 4U website.
